A large site where you can choose pitches with plenty of shade or sunny pitches in more open parkland on the banks of the River Indre. I loved the feeling of camping in a country park with no boundaries between pitches. It's a shame that the next door municipal swimming pool appears to have closed down. Pitches are large and flat, facilities are regularly cleaned, easy 5 minute walk into town where there are numerous cafés and restaurants, next to the stunning château.

Nice sunny campsite on the edge of the river but with plenty of trees for shade. Not too busy in September with good size pitch. Adequate sanitary facilities (toilet paper outside the cubicles but no toilet seats), hot showers and washing up - all kept clean. Short walk into town and the chateau next door.

This is a large site by the side of the River Inde. Generous pitches, largely flat. Ground soft but well drained with many attractive large trees providing shade (but a nuisance when wet). Out of season most people pitch in the first area near the main toilet block which is the only open one in low season. The sanitation block is old and mainly functioning but in need of a major update. The only water tap seems to be at the camping car service point. There are a handful of static tent/cabins on the banks of the river. The main advantage of this site is its proximity to the chateau and the medieval town. Azay has a small but well stocked Carrefour Express as well as many restaurants, bars etc. Site takes CC.

Lovely little site next to a chateau, great town , good cycle routes for all abilities. Pitches large and easy accessibility,
unfortunately toilet blocks were not clean and hot water only warm both for showers and washing up. Site seemed a little tired and not very well maintained.

We planned to stay on this campsite on 30th September. When we arrived the site was closed. The dates for closing was 31st October in the ACSI book and App. There is an Aires next door but this was only for motorhomes and camper vans. we had a large caravan which we had to negotiate a very tight village. The village did look lovely but as we could not stay we did not use anything. We have now learned that whatever it says in the ACSI book we will telephone and confirm it before we travel.
